1.Terms and conditions: Makro – Win R201, 000 in cash 1 “Makro” refers to Masstores (Pty) Limited, trading as Makro SA (registration number: 1991/006805/07). 2 The competition commences on 5 April 2010 and ends on 30 May 2010 (being the earliest and the latest dates for entries into the competition respectively) ("the competition period"). 3 All Makro customers are eligible to enter the competition provided that – 3.1 they are natural persons over the age of 18; 3.2 they have ensured that their complete, accurate and up to date name, contact telephone number and South African identity number are captured and appear on the Makro SAP Customer Relationship Management system ("Makro SAP CRM system"); 3.3 they are citizens or permanent residents of South Africa; 3.4 their identification has been verified through their South African identity book; and 3.5 they are not a director, member, partner, employee or agent of, or consultant or service provider to Makro, Sony or a participating product or marketing production supplier; or the spouse, life partner, parent, child, brother, sister, business partner or associate of such a person. 4 For the purposes of these terms and conditions, "customer" means the natural person whose name, contact telephone number and South African identity number are reflected on the Makro SAP CRM System at the time of the draw and whose Makro card is used to purchase the product of the participating brand. 5 Entry into the competition will be automatic, using the customer details and actual purchasing data on the Makro SAP CRM system. 6 Purchasing data will be based on the net sales of customers, after returns have been deducted. 7 Customers will receive one entry into the draw for every R100 spent on Sony products. 8 The winners will be randomly selected, by means of an automated system, from the eligible entrants for the relevant draws for the relevant period. 9 The automated system for the selection of winners will be verified by an internal auditor. 10 The winners of the weekly prizes must collect their prizes, at a time and place arranged with the supplier of the prize, within one month of being notified, failing which they will forfeit the prizes and, in which event, Makro reserves the right to re draw new winners under the same conditions. 11 The draw will be made from the entries from all eligible purchases over the competition period. 12 The draw will take place on 7 June 2010, and the winner will be notified on the 14 June 2010. 13 Subject to these terms and conditions, the person whose Makro card number is drawn in the grand draw, and whose details appear on the Makro SAP CRM system against that card number at the time of the draw, will be the winner of the R201, 000 in cash. 14 In order to be eligible to win a prize, customers must not have issued dishonoured cheques, or have any overdue payments to Makro at the time of the draw. 15 Any costs or expenses incurred in respect of items not specifically included in the prizes are for the winners' own account. Makro will not be responsible for any costs or expenses which the winners may incur as a result of their acceptance and/or use of a prize, whether foreseen or not. 16 If the winners fail to comply with any of these terms and conditions or the terms of acceptance of the prizes, or if the they refuse to sign Makro's winner's declaration, the refusal to sign will be construed as a rejection of the prize and then, without prejudice to any other remedy which Makro and its associates may have, the winner will be automatically disqualified and will forfeit the prize. 17 To the extent that any taxes, duties, levies or other charges may be levied on a prize by the State or any other competent government or regulatory body, the winner will be liable therefore, and Makro will not increase the value of the prize to compensate for such charges. 18 The winners of the prize will be notified by Makro by means of the contact details on the SAP CRM system recorded against the selected card number. If Makro is unable to contact the winner within one month of the draw, the winner will forfeit the prize and Makro reserves the right to re-draw a new winner under the same conditions. 19 The winners agree to the publication of their name and image in the print and electronic media, and to appear in person on radio and/or television, if Makro so requests, and agree, within reason, to endorse, promote or advertise Makro's goods or services, for which no fee will be payable. 20 Makro reserves the right to vary, postpone, suspend, or cancel the competition and any prizes (which have not yet been subject to a draw), or any aspect thereof, without notice at any time, for any reason which Makro reasonably deems necessary. 21 In the event of a dispute, the decision of the competition judges is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
