Why should I use a makro gift card?

• A gift card is an electronic version of a paper gift voucher.
• You need a Makro card to purchase and redeem a Makro gift card. simply apply online, call 0860 300 999 or apply in store, it will only take a few minutes.
• Call our national contact centre to place a bulk order on 0860 300 999.
• All tender types as currently accepted by makro can be used to purchase gift cards, including ebucks and rcs cards.
• You can earn ebucks on a gift card purchase by presenting your ebucks card to the cashier.
• There is a minimum purchase value of R50 and a maximum value of R5000.
• There are no fixed denomination cards, purchase for any value over R50 and under R5000.
• Should you not utilise the full value of your gift card on your first purchase, a credit will remain on the card for future use.
• Gift cards are conveniently sold at all till points.
• Gift cards can be redeemed at all Makro stores, across all categories, including liquor.
• Gift cards are valid for 36 months from date of issue.
• In order to check the balance on a gift card, simply: ask a cashier at any main store till point. sms your gift card number to 34543 (sms charged at R2) or call 083 918 7700.
• You may transfer your gift card to a friend or family member.
• Gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash.
• Should the gift card be lost or stolen and it is used then neither Makro, nor it’s agents will be liable for any reimbursement of any nature.
• Gift cards are currently sold on the ebucks website.
• You cannot purchase a gift card online from Makro as our website does not offer an online shopping service
