Massmart Birthday Competition Terms and Conditions

1.    Introduction
Sea Monster Promoters in collaboration with Massmart Makro (“the Promoters”) are running a number of promotional competitions as part of the Birthday Gaming Campaign on Lighthouse.
In this Agreement
1.1    Participant or you mean the person who submits a competition entry, by claiming a competition entry as one of the rewards available on the Lighthouse platform (**. light-house. Online).
1.2    Promoters means Sea Monster, Makro and their agencies used to promote this competition.
1.3    Questionnaire means the questionnaire (either in printed or electronic format) that a Participant can access through https://makro.light-house.online and that you must fill out completely to stand a chance to win a prize. 
2.    Duration and who can enter
2.1    The competitions will run from 24 July 2022 to 31 August 2022 and winners will be drawn on weekly basis as per below table. 
2.2    The competition is conducted by the Promoters and their third-party contractors. 
2.3    No one who is a director, member, employee, agent of, or consultant to us or who is a spouse, life partner, close family member, business partner, or associate to a director, employee, agent of, or consultant to the Promoters may take part in or enter the competition.
2.4    This competition is only open to legal residents of South Africa aged 18 years or over. 
2.5    You must have a valid South African delivery address and ID or passport with a permanent residence permit when claiming a prize.
2.6    Entry into this competition is regarded as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
3.    How to enter
3.1    To enter you must register on the Lighthouse platform (https://makro.light-house.online), engage with the available engagement mechanics to earn virtual currency (coins) and then use the coins to redeem a competition entry into the desired competition.
3.2    You may enter as many times as the number of coins you have allows, within the duration of the competition.
3.3    For an entry to be valid, you must provide your Name, Surname, and mobile number. 
3.4    The Promoters are not liable for any technical failure that may result in an entry not being successfully submitted.
4.    Promotional competition reward 
4.1    Prizes. You can win the following prizes: R23 470 worth of Russell Hobbs small appliances, Airtime/Data valued at R24 000 and 
4.2    mRewards valued at R51 000.
5.    One x R10 000.00 in Makro mRewards Rewards program points; 
6.    Three x R5 000.00 in Makro mRewards Rewards program points; and 
7.    Twenty-Five x R1 000.00 in Makro Online mRewards Rewards program points.  
7.1 The following small appliances can be won as part of this competition:

Prizes which are digital in nature will be delivered directly to the winner’s mobile device or email address.
7.1    Redeeming prizes. The Promoters will announce winners and award prizes after the close of the weekly competitions within a reasonable time. 
7.2    Transportation of prizes. Your prize will be delivered via email or WhatsApp. You are responsible for providing a valid email address and/or mobile number.
8.    Prize winner selection and publicity 
8.1    Choosing a winner. The prize winners will be randomly drawn by the Promoters after each weekly cut-off date. 
8.2   How will you know if you have won? Each winner will be contacted telephonically, through email, or sms after they have been selected. The Promoters will attempt to contact winners up to a maximum of three times during a 72-hour period. If the winner cannot be contacted during this period, another winner will be selected. Winners who have not given the Promoters the correct details will forfeit the prize.
8.3    Winners may be asked to take part in publicity connected to this competition. Winners grant permission for us to use their names and photographs in any advertising and promotional material for this competition. You may ask for your name to be removed or refuse to take part in any publicity.
8.4    You will not receive any payment for taking part in the competition, or taking part in any media format related to it.
8.5    The prizes are not transferable. You cannot ask for an alternative prize of similar value or to pay out the value of the prize. Prizes may be substituted by the Promoters with another prize of similar value.

9.    Dispute resolution
9.1    The Promoters’ decision regarding any dispute will be final and binding.
9.2    In the event of a dispute, the decision of the competition judges is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
10.    General Rules
10.1    No liability. By taking part in this competition, you agree that you will not hold the Promoters liable for any losses, harm, damages, injury, claims or actions related to this competition.
10.2    Changing the rules. These rules, including the duration of the competition, can only be reasonably changed (or superseded) by the Promoters in a written revision to these rules posted on the competition website or any other potential official competition communication methods we use to reach a majority of potential participants.
10.3    Tax. Income or other taxes relating to the prizes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the prize winner.
10.4    Governing laws. South African laws govern this competition.
10.5    Use of personal information. Participants understand and agree that in order to offer the competition, the Promoters must collect and use personal information about them and will do so in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013. 
10.6    Termination of the competition. If needed, because of legislative or regulatory reasons, the Promoters may terminate the competition immediately and without notice. If this happens you will not have any claim against the Promoters because of this.
