Firmer tips are easier to handle for beginners and also more suitable for a more formal, controlled style. This pen set has softer tips which makes it little difficult to maneuver, specially at started. With little practice it prepares you for getting better. It’s a complete set for the starting calligraphy. Pencil inside the set is also very soft and light, which helps to create the draft. Overall, one of the best set to start with for calligraphy.

These are really great for beginners and advanced letterers/artists. The ink glides on super well and they seem to last nicely. I haven't had any issues with the felt pulling off or getting stringy, like some pens do.

I own an Interior Design firm, and I was looking for a lettering kit to allow me to send out hand written thank you notes to my clients. The pens themselves are nice, I thought there would be some sort of hand lettering guide included. As a novice, I will have to find an instructional video to help me learn.
