Great pencils to sketch with. I love how durable these are and easy to hold. Doesn’t hurt my fingers like some can. Goes on well on plain paper or sketch pad. It is charcoal and comes with various shades and you can play around with texture and shading. Lasts a good while before sharpening again.

I was excited to try out this charcoal set, it has been ages since I have been able to create anything with charcoal. It was fun to introduce my children to this aged art form and the east of blending to create shadows and depth on paper. With my children I showed them how to use these tools on paper, but I myself used a heavier weighted sketch pad. The charcoal pencils worked well on both types and weight of paper. This is kind of embarrassing, but I never owned a Charcoal Sketch Set before; therefore, I cannot compare it with another product of its kind; but for the sake of this review, I used it several times. In the first scribble on the picture I posted, I did not sharpen the pencil. For the second scribble, I sharpened a pencil. I enjoyed using this set, so much. Each pencil has a specific function and explanatory use. The set contains all one needs for a sketch.

My High School student loves these. She especially liked the kneaded eraser and blending stick. The black pastel stick (?) gives great coverage. He biggest complaint was that the pencils themselves needed a knife to sharpen. All in all I think it's a great kit for someone who's willing to put a bit of effort into sharpening the pencils, lol!! She does use it a lot so it's holding up to the test of time as well.

I would recommend this set for beginners. It would also be fine for more advanced artist. Blends well, vibrant, easy to use. Works well with all types of paper and canvas.

I’m not someone that’s too picky about my charcoal pencils, but these are really nice. They blend out smoothly and can get really dark built up as well, so overall I think they work very well. I like them a lot

My daughter enjoys drawing and she said this is the best set that she has used. She has watched videos and learned how to blend and other nice things. Sharpen and stay sharp. I recommend this for a beginner set.

My daughter likes to occasionally sketch when she has time. It isn't an everyday or frequent hobby so I haven't invested in very many supplies. When I was given the opportunity to review this Charcoal sketch set it was a perfect win win so I would know what products are worth spending money on.
