Makro store gift cards make the perfect gift, giving your friends and family a world of choice. Gift cards are available, on request, at the till points at all Makro stores and can be loaded with your chosen amount ranging between R50 and R5000. Gift cards are not accepted as a form of payment online.

Our Card Protection plan covers unauthorised transactions on your Makro Credit account as well as card replacements, for only R 15 per month.

FUNERAL PLAN

Makro offers a Funeral Plan that you can tailor to cover your family. Ensure that your funeral expenses are taken care of if you pass away and make sure your family is not under financial stress should you suffer a loss.

Features:

• Choose a benefit level that suits your pocket (ranging from R20,000 to R100,000)

• Add your spouse at an additional premium.

• Add up to 5 dependent children at an additional premium (maximum death benefit of R20,000).

• Add up to 6 extended family members at an additional premium (choose a death benefit ranging from R10,000 to R30,000).

• Please note: Natural Death waiting period is 6 months and Unnatural Death (Suicide) waiting period is 12 months.

COMPREHENSIVE PROTECTION PLAN

Our Comprehensive Protection Plan gives you freedom of choice. Includes Death cover and a choice between Severe Illness cover, Permanent Disability cover or an Income Booster with a daily monetary benefit for when you are in hospital.

You must choose at least one of the following additional benefits over and above Death cover:

 Permanent Disability cover – medical and certified incapacity resulting from illness, injury or disease.

 Serious Illness cover – diagnosis of cancer, stroke, heart attack, organ transplant, kidney failure.

 Income booster – in hospital daily monetary benefit of R600 per day – must be in hospital for at least 3 (three) consecutive days.

Choose your benefit level from R50,000 to R200,000 in increments of R50,000:

The waiting periods are as follows:

 Natural death, Permanent Disability, Serious Illness, Income Booster – 6 (six) months.

 Unnatural death (suicide) – 12 (twelve) months.

 Accidental death – no waiting period.

Number of policies per insured – one

Number of claims per event per insured:

 Death – one for the policy duration;

 Permanent Disability – one for the policy duration;

 Serious Illness – one for the policy duration; and

 Income Booster – 30 (thirty) days per insured per calendar year.

Using Scan-to-Pay is quick and straightforward:

3. Scan the QR Code: Point your phone camera at the QR code displayed at the Makro checkout.
4. Confirm Payment Details: Review the merchant name, payment amount, and any other details shown.
5. Authorise the Payment: Approve the transaction using your app’s security method (PIN, biometrics, or OTP).
6. Receive Confirmation: Once approved, the payment is instantly processed, and a confirmation is displayed on your app.
