We purchased this recorder to keep minutes for an online meeting (my wife in the room with the recorder while everyone else was online). The recorder picked up the voices on the laptop speaker just as well as it did my wife's voice.

It would be nice if you could pause recording instead of stopping and then starting again with a new file.

will not turn on! the batteries provided did not work, i replaced them with new name brand batteries and it did not turn on. Worthless!

Why I can't recommend this product: As soon as I got the recorder out of the package, I was highly disappointed. The controls are not intuitive; they are tiny and very difficult to see. The third time I connected the recorder to my PC to download recordings, the computer no longer can find it.

I have never rated a product with only one star. I wish I could give it 0 stars!

I love this recorder, its just what I need, but, I am looking for ear buds to fit this recorder, does anyone know where to buy some that would fit? I like to listen to what I record and type it in my computer to check back at a later date and compare my notes.

Great for recording on the sly (needed through a divorce). Discreet, silent, easily backed up to a computer (some are so difficult). I had a couple others but this one is so much easier to use. And it was the cheapest one I purchased. I no longer need it, but if I did, this is the one for me.

You can't pause while recording.... the quality of the recording is awful. Has a very scratchy playback. I'm currently looking for something else.

the power on button is too thin. Larger fingers can not touch just the one button. if you already had a recorder, and you buy this one: the transition is not easy. the record button is nice and big. the record button is easy to see. But for me, the record button slide on inside my pocket. Not good

Have many Olympus (Olp) recorders. This one should not be sold by Walmart. One of my 12 year-old Olp recorder (VN-3200PC) appeared to lose is mics performance. Called Olp and decided on VN-541PC. Placed my defective 12-year old unit side-by-side and recorded my voice from 1ft away. Uploaded file from both units to PC and during playback the VN-541PC voice level was less than 50% of my 12 year-old 3200! Called Olp back and they attempted to blame my computer or some other non-sense. No more Ol...
