Promoter Details

The Really Great Brand Company & Makro (“the Promoters”).

Eligibility

This promotional competition (“Competition”) is open to all South African residents aged 18 years and older who are in possession of a valid South African identity document. The promotional competition is open to all legal permanent residents of South Africa that are in possession of a valid identity document

The following persons are not eligible to enter:

  • Any director, member, partner, employee, agent, or consultant of the Promoter, The South African Breweries, or any of their affiliates, marketing service providers, suppliers, or distributors.
  • Immediate family members (spouses, life partners, business partners, or relatives) of any of the above.

Competition Period

The Competition starts on Saturday, 01 November 2025 and ends on Wednesday, 31 December 2025 at 23:59PM (the “Campaign Period”).

No late entries will be considered.

Entry Mechanics

To enter the Competition, participants must:

    1. Purchase 1(one) 750ml bottle of Hennessy X.O from Makro Woodmead store during the Promotional Period:
    2. Keep the till slip as proof of purchase.
    3. Swipe their Makro rewards card
    4. For any online purchases – keep a copy of the invoice

Each 750ml bottle of the ‘Participating Brands’ purchased during the ‘Promotional Period’ will count as 1(one) entry into this Promotion Competition. Limited to 6 (Six) bottles maximum per purchase. Any suspected fraudulent activity, such as code manipulation, will lead to disqualification and may result in legal action.

Prizes

The prize is defined as:

One (1) Tag Heuer Monaco Chronograph watch valued at R190,000.00

Non-Interchangeability of Prizes

    1. Prizes awarded in this Competition are strictly non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be redeemed for cash or credit under any circumstances. The Promoter will not provide any alternative compensation, cash equivalent, or substitute for the prize should the winner decline or be unable to accept the prize for any reason. Winners must accept the prize "as is," and no requests for variations, substitutions, or cash payouts will be considered.
    2. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or credit. If a specific prize is unavailable, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute it with another prize of equal value in compliance with the Consumer Protection Act.

Winner Selection and Notification for Prizes

    1. One (1) Name will be randomly selected in an audited draw at the end of the promotion period.
    2. The Promoter (or their agent) will contact the Prize winner via email & phone call
    3. The winner will be required to provide their name, ID number and contact details and to sign an acknowledgement of receipt of the prize.
    4. One (1) Winners Name is drawn by means of a random audited draw and will be notified telephonically & by email where the winner will be required to verify their details. The Promoter (or their agent) will endeavor to contact the winner once every day for 5 consecutive working days after their name is drawn. If the ONE (1) participant cannot be contacted during this period, the position will be forfeited, and we will revert to alternative participants drawn in accordance with the rules.
    5. The Prize requires the Prize Winner
    6. Failure to claim the prize - or a refusal or inability to comply herewith these requirements by the required time, will disqualify the winner and the prize will be forfeited; and a new winner will be drawn from the alternate list in their place at the sole discretion of the Promoters. The Promoters are in no way responsible for any monetary compensation of any nature due to failure to comply with the Terms & conditions.

Liability

    1. The Promoters (or their agent) shall not be responsible for any lost, damaged, delayed, incorrect or incomplete entries for any reason whatsoever. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
    2. The Promoters (or their agent) shall not be responsible for the failure of any technical element relating to this promotion that may result in an entry not being successfully submitted.
    3. The Promoters (or their agent) do not accept responsibility for entries lost, damaged or delayed because of any network, computer or cell phone hardware or software failure of any kind. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
    4. To the extent permitted by applicable law, ‘The Promoters or their agent’ shall not be liable under or in connection with these [Terms & Conditions/Terms], the competition or any prize for any indirect, special or consequential loss or damage and shall not be liable for any injury or damage arising from the use of the prize(s).

Data Privacy

    1. Any personal data submitted by you will be used solely in accordance with current South African data protection legislation and the Promoter’s privacy policy.
    2. The Promoter reserves the right to name Prize Winners publicly and any other place where the Promoter deems fit. By entering the competition, prize winners agree to the publication of their name by the Promoter.
    3. The Promoters reserve the right to share all Entrance &/or Prize Winner Details with The Really Great Brand Company where needed – for audit or marketing purposes. In accordance with the POPI Act legal requirements.
    4. The Promoter reserves the right to use the images taken of the winner for publicity purposes in any manner they deem fit, without remuneration being made payable to the winner. However, the winner has the right to object to these images being used by written notification to the Promoter at <<7a Bell Crescent, Westlake, 7940 >> ATT: Legal Department.

Intellectual Property

Participants waive moral rights and grant the Promoter unlimited, perpetual, royalty-free rights to use Competition-related intellectual property created by participants. This applies exclusively to entries and does not include unrelated intellectual property. The Promoter may edit and use such material at its sole discretion.

Dispute Resolution

11.1 The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any claim if fraud or cheating is suspected, including without limitation, through the manipulation of code or otherwise falsifying data.

11.2 No applications from agents, third parties, organized groups or applications automatically generated by computer will be accepted. No incomplete or corrupted entries will be accepted. Entries will only be accepted if they comply with all entry instructions.

11.3 NOTE: Any attempt to use multiple e-mail or Facebook accounts or other tactics to enter or vote more than the stated limit may result in disqualification and all associated entries and/or votes will be void. Entries or votes generated by script, macro, bot, commercial contest subscription, incentives or other means not sponsored by the Promoter, vote-swapping sites, voting software, entering service sites or any other automated means and entries or votes by any means that subvert the entry/voting process or do not conform to the terms or spirit of these competition rules, will void the entry/votes and may disqualify the entrant.

Disputes will be resolved via arbitration in accordance with South African law, with the arbitration decision being final and binding on all parties.

Amendments and Termination

The Promoter reserves the right to amend or terminate the Competition with 7 days’ notice in cases of unforeseen circumstances. Participants agree to waive any claims against the Promoter in such instances.

Social Media Disclaimer

This promotion is not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by any social media platform. Participants acknowledge that they are providing information to the Promoter, not to any social media channel. The Promoter is not liable for data breaches or technical issues on these platforms.

General

    1. The Promoters will need to process your personal information to validate your entry as well as to contact you to offer you products and, if you are a Winner, to make the Prize available to you. By entering this Competition, you specifically and expressly consent to us processing your personal information for these purposes and you specifically and expressly consent to us contacting you for marketing purposes.
    2. By entering the Competition, the Participant acknowledges that he/she is entering a promotional competition for the purposes of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (hereinafter referred to as “CPA”) and the promotional competition will be conducted in accordance with the CPA. The winner of the Competition undertakes to do all things necessary to enable the Promoter to comply with its obligations under the CPA including, but not limited to, providing any personal information as may be required to facilitate the handing over of the Prize (including providing proof of address and identity number).
    3. The winners may be requested to provide their names for publicity purposes.
    4. The Promoters assume no risk and/or liability whatsoever for the failure of any technical element in the Competition which may result in your entry not being successfully submitted and/or the Winner not successfully receiving or taking up the Prize.
    5. Once the Winner accepts the Prize, the Winner accepts the Prize at his/her own risk.
    6. The Promoters assume no liability whatsoever for any direct or indirect loss, harm or damage arising from your participation and/or any Prize awarded in the Competition or for any loss or damage, howsoever arising. By participating in the Competition, the Prize winner agrees to indemnify the Promoters and release and hold the promoters harmless against all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with the Competition or resulting from acceptance and participation in the Competition including, but not limited to, any personal injuries, death, damage to property and claims based on defamation or invasion of privacy.
    7. If required by the Minister of Trade and Industry, the National Consumer Commission or for whatever other reason, we will have the right to modify or terminate this Competition with immediate effect and without notice of such modification or termination. In such event, all entrants hereby waive any rights, which they may have against us and hereby acknowledge that they will have no recourse or claim of any nature whatsoever against.
