Only 2.0 speed.
Transcend now has poor quality products and many of their "3.0" drives are actually "2.0". This CANNOT be fixed with their online utility restore. DO NOT purchase unless want standard 2.0 speeds.

Just not some computer with Windows 10
Purchased this drive to make an image of a Windows 10 Netbook. Upon insertion the drive went into a loop of being recognized and then not recognized. It was unusable for the purpose I purchased it. It does work well in two other Windows 10 computers. It is probably more a Windows problem but you may want to try a different flash drive if you are going to use it with Windows 10.

USB 3 speed and quick auto-installed device driver by any version of Windows. Very fast, and only $2 more than the USB 2 models that the industry is trying to dump off on unsuspecting consumers! If you don't have a device with USB3 ports, you will soon and you'll see the difference - 4 times faster!

my son needed extra storage space for his Xbox, but didn't ask for as much as this item holds, however, due to the fact that this item holds as much data or more than similar items priced about the same or in some cases, higher priced for half the amount of storage, of course this was my choice, and the right choice
