Everything I expected a WD Hard Drive that is portable to be.!

WD makes a great external portable hard drive and now that the cost has come down and the storage capacity gone up it's really a bargain. This is my third one. Only drawback I found was there were no instructions on how to set up your security but found that once I installed the software there was a shortcut on my desktop that allowed me to do it. This particular item can't be fully rated right now as it's a recent purchasing. But Wal-Mart online purchasing is great. This price has been here for long and it's the least expensive price, even better than costco. The shipping is free and really fast.

I have many WD 1TB portable HDs and they are all excellent (not the large WD book size HD. They fail easily. I had at least 2 failed after not long time usage).

Hope this 2TB HD last long and reliable.

I was almost out of space on my pc hard drive, and I was downloading massive amounts of tutorial video. Two TB handled hundreds of hours of video without a hitch and tons of space left over. Installation was to simply plug in a USB cable. I couldn't be more pleased with the WD Passport Ultra.

I have only had this for a week or so but have another WD external that we have been using for several years. Both worked right out of the box and the first one has continued to do so.

Easily installed on my desktop computer with Vista and my laptop with windows 7. Software easy to install. Paper work included is nearly useless, except for telling me the web site. Web site not really needed since the instruction manual is stored on the device. Backup was slow (hours for about 500 GB) since I only have USB 2. With USB 3 it would be much faster. After initial backup, storing new file is quick.

Very fast download speed. Lightweight and small, so it travels well. Looked at all the sites and Walmart.com had the best price.

I was not impressed with Walmarts packing job. When the drive arrived it had been thrown in a packing box with no protection around the drive whatsoever, except for the little box that the drive itself was packed in. No packing material, bubbles or peanuts. It was left to flop around the inside of the box. This still has me a little alarmed as a hard drive should not be banged around. My only complaint is that it comes with a ridiculously short, 18", cable.

You end up getting 1.81TBs of memory. The product itself is good, just a lot to NOT get.
