As an entry level fully automatic, you cannot go wrong. The 2200 makes great espresso and Americano and whilst there options aren't as numerous as pricier machines, the adjustment available is more than adequate for most home users. The milk frother is a but noisier than more expensive machines but makes a great cappuccino and is a breeze to clean. Most of the components can go in the dishwasher, too. The best fully automatic this side of R12k!

I was really happy with coffee, it had a water leak. Sent it in at makro for repair. Came back but just not the same. Very sad! Miss my coffee!

While my wife and I adore this machine, it has a few drawbacks. The ossue regarding the grinder that does not take well to grinding dark roast beans, due to them being "wet" due to higher oil content, and resulting in grinder failures is a concern. As much as I love my Phillips machine because how easily I can make my cappuccinos as often as I like, I am a little unhappy about a few things. The first thing is that no one tells you upfront the amount of effort it is to clean this machine (and how often it must be done). Secondly I am really struggling to get an Aquafilter replacement (without having to import it) and a replacement tube of grease, which is apparently quite important. This machine is fantastic for the first ~6 months (simply loved it!) but you will need to replace o-rings in the first year and expect the grinder to stop working. I've never had to use a troubleshooting manual for a household appliance as much as I have for this machine. Google troubleshooting this machine on reddit and a thread on lazyadmin.nl to understand better how down the road this machine becomes problematic to the point of wanting to replace it out of frustration._x000D_
